東京出身のニューメディア・アーティスト。
これまでに自作の電子音楽と映像を融合させたビデオ作品を数々発表。
2017年、Video Bouillon(ヴィデオブイヨン)名義でオーディオビジュアル・パフォーマンスの活動を開始し、恵比寿リキッドルームや音楽動画メディア「Boiler Room」「DOMMUNE」などでパフォーマンスを行う。
2019年、Eguo名義で音楽アルバム『Digital Maze』と4本のMVをリリース。
2021年、初VR作品『VR CYPHER』が、ファッション/カルチャー/アート分野のXRコンテンツアワードNEWVIEW AWARDS 2021にてPARCO Prizeを受賞。
2022年、渋谷パルコ P.O.N.D.2022にて「多種多様な宇宙人たちが参加する地球開催のパーティー」をテーマに、実際のDJパーティー・VR作品・AR作品を連動させたインスタレーション作品『Alien Party』を展示開催。
2023年、大手自動車メーカーにプロトタイプVRゲーム作品を提供。Amazon Prime Videoにて配信中の音楽エンタテインメント・ショー「ひ～！ひ～！ふ～！」の全エピソードにオーディオビジュアル作品を提供。Twitchでのライブ配信とチャット機能を使用した実験的なアートゲーム作品を自主制作。
2024年、MR (Mixed Reality) ゲーム作品『captiveX』が、2024アジアデジタルアート大賞展FUKUOKAのインタラクティブアート部門にて入賞。
その他、VJやYouTubeのインタビュー番組「ニートtokyo」に所属するなど多岐に渡って活動中。10代の頃はラップをしていた。

Eguoは、活動開始時から一貫して電子音楽と映像を融合させたオーディオビジュアル表現を追求してきた。これまでは主にライブパフォーマンスやビデオ作品を通じて表現し、ここに自身が18歳の時に経験し、その後の人生を大きく変えることになった現実崩壊体験から導かれた「多角的視点」「メタ視点」「ブラックユーモア」を織り込んできた。
近年は、従来の平面スクリーン／ディスプレイではなくVR/MR技術を用いることにより、身体性を伴ったオーディオビジュアル表現を獲得した。ここに作品の体験者による能動的なアクションや演奏行為を加えることにより、オーディオビジュアル表現の領域をさらに開拓することを試みている。
現在は、新たにビデオゲームの形式を導入することにより、「多角的視点」と「メタ視点」をより強く作品に織り込んでいる。まず、コンティニューやリスタートを実装したリセットが可能なゲームシステム（メカニクス）を構築し、生死を繰り返すプレイヤーの無数の選択によって「多角的視点」をシミュレートする。次に、現実とバーチャルの境界を舞台にしたミックスドリアリティゲーム内にゲームを現出させ、入れ子構造にすることにより、プレイヤーを「メタ視点」に誘導し、ゲームの虚構世界と交錯した現実世界を自己言及する。これらのアプローチを通じてシミュレーション仮説や、「この世界に固定的な実体を持つ事物や現象は存在しない。固定的な実体がないからこそ万物が成立する」という仏教の経典・般若心経の「色即是空 空即是色」という一節、量子力学におけるコペンハーゲン解釈などを探求している。
そして、ジョナサン・スウィフトから脈々と続く伝統的な表現形式である「ブラックユーモア」を現代において継承し、最適化させ、作品の鑑賞者／体験者自らの内に内在する人間本来の醜さや毒を顕在化し、自己認識を促す機能としての有効性を証明することを試みている。また、暴走する正義による社会システムの自家中毒化を防止するため、全方位無差別に「ブラックユーモア」を用いた表現を行い、相反するそれぞれの立場に立脚しない真の意味において平等な表現の自由を体現することを自らの使命として活動している。

Eguo

Eguo is a new media artist from Tokyo.
They have released numerous video works that integrate self-produced electronic music and visuals.

In 2017, Eguo began performing under the name Video Bouillon, showcasing audiovisual performances at venues such as Ebisu Liquidroom and music video media platforms like Boiler Room and DOMMUNE.
In 2019, under the name Eguo, they released the music album Digital Maze along with four music videos.
In 2021, Eguo’s first VR work, VR CYPHER, won the PARCO Prize at the NEWVIEW AWARDS 2021, an XR content award for fashion, culture, and art.
In 2022, at Shibuya PARCO P.O.N.D.2022, Eguo exhibited Alien Party, an installation that linked an actual DJ party, a VR work, and an AR piece under the theme of “A party on Earth attended by various types of aliens.”
In 2023, Eguo provided a prototype VR game to Toyota Motor Corporation. Additionally, they contributed audiovisual works to every episode of the Amazon Prime Video music entertainment show “Hi~! Hi~! Hoo~!” and independently created an experimental art game using Twitch’s live streaming and chat functions.
In 2024, Eguo’s MR (Mixed Reality) game captiveX won an award in the Interactive Art category at the 2024 Asia Digital Art Award FUKUOKA.

Beyond this, Eguo is active as a VJ and a member of the YouTube interview program “NEET Tokyo”. In their teenage years, they were involved in rap music.

Eguo’s artistic approach is deeply rooted in a reality-shattering experience at the age of 18, which led them to explore multiperspectivity, meta-perspective, and black humor in their work.
Recently, Eguo has been incorporating VR/MR technology to achieve a form of audiovisual expression that involves physical engagement. By adding interactive actions and performance elements, they are further expanding the realm of audiovisual expression.
Currently, Eguo is integrating video game mechanics to emphasize multiperspectivity and meta-perspective in their work.

By constructing a game system with restart and continue mechanics, Eguo simulates multiperspectivity through the countless choices players make while repeating life and death.
By embedding the game within a Mixed Reality setting, Eguo creates a nested structure, leading players into a meta-perspective, where the fictional game world and the real world intertwine and self-reference.
Through these approaches, Eguo explores the Simulation Hypothesis, the Buddhist concept from the Heart Sutra—”Form is emptiness, emptiness is form”—and the Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics.

Additionally, Eguo aims to modernize and optimize the traditional literary form of black humor, inherited from Jonathan Swift. Their work reveals the innate ugliness and toxicity within human nature, prompting self-awareness in the audience.
Furthermore, to counteract the self-poisoning effects of justice-driven social systems, Eguo uses black humor indiscriminately across all perspectives, upholding a genuinely equal approach to freedom of expression—which they see as their ultimate mission.
